Equipment
McCulloch centrifugal blower on 59AB flathead V8, Altertor. MM Retro participant. Sympathetically restored to a standard that would make Sydney Allard envious, with excellent cosmetics and mechanical preparation. Some unspecified South American history and ... wicked cool. Plugged on the auction block as the best fun for money of the sale and endorsed by many bidders paddles. A super driver.
Market commentary
A terrific (and only modestly terrifying) Allard thats been around since 93 when, in much rougher South American condition, it brought $32,000 at Kruse Scottsdale. Affectiotely treated since to a $12,000 engine rebuild and corresponding body and chassis profligacy, this blown flathead Allard had a legion of fans, many of whom became bidders. The result blew the top off RMs estimate but was still the days best fun for money and is a highly cost effective ticket to the MM Retro, Carrera or anything else. A rare instance of the auction estimate being wrong and the bidders right; this is a neat car bought for an appropriate price.
