Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Claretta Petaccis gift from Benito Mussolini, salvaged from Lake Garda after the famous capture by Partisans in 1945. Restored in 1980 to a high standard. One of only a few surviving Fiat 2800s. Stylish deco body (that looks like a stretch Plymouth.)

Market commentary

An automobile both rare and historic, unfortunately more likely to be an object of morbid curiosity than admiration for its style and rarity. Safely bought at the high end of Brooks estimate.
