Equipment
RHD. Rumble seat, chrome wire wheels, Marchal headlights and fog lights in the front of the fenders. 1938 Paris Salon show car. Discovered in 1964 by Antoine Raffadlli who filly maged to acquire it in 1985. Restored by Conforti Freres in 1987. Acquired from the Dragone brothers in 1998 by Peter Kaus. Good older paint, interior and chrome. Swirled paint and scuffed chrome details. Lightly creased seats. Chassis done like new. A quality older restoration showing use and age but still very presentable. A very attractive car that looks better in person than in photos.
Market commentary
Brooks offered this car in 1993 at its April Olympia sale but it was withdrawn before it crossed the block. It is beautiful and a frankly refreshing change from the plethora of Teardrops that have changed hands recently. It doesnt just look better in person than in photos, it looks great. Several bidders eased up to $1 MM, then took off again in $100k bounds to roundly blow the high estimate out of the water. Ended up in a warehouse in Houston.
