Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Servo assist brakes, Lucas head and driving lights, opening windhsield, divider, sunroof, fender skirts, clock in rear. Very nice paint. Excellent chrome. Interior superb. A fine example that has been restored and maintained with attention appropriate to its elegant Hooper coachwork, embellished with very attractive but also uncharacteristic, chrome side spears. Restored in 2000, class third at Pebble Beach 2002 and showing no signs of age or use.

Market commentary

Easily one of the most attractive PIIIs ever built, a judgment which the bidders shared, taking the successful hammer bid to 15% over the high estimate, a lot of money for a PIII but not for this PIII.
