Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

A very, very disappointing Cord. Bearing CCCA NFP badge 1858, this is a bad car. Claimed to be two owners from new, with origil bill of sale and service vouchers. Superficially restored, body seals not replaced and nearly dead. Poor recent repaint with terrible masking, scratched windshield frame chrome. Described as restored by an engineer, all the quality that impressed the CCCA judges must have disappeared years ago because whats left is awful.

Market commentary

$35,000 would be enough to pay for this sloppy, disreputable 812 even if the engine, transmission, chassis, brakes and suspension are in absolute tip top, fresh condition ... and to judge by the rest of the car its far from fresh. By the time the new owner is done making it look even passably presentable it will be a six figure investment. That, to put it in perspective, buys a perfectly good phaeton.
