Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Skirts, wire wheels, wide whitewalls, Marchal headlights, top hinged opening rear window. The first Aerosport built, displayed at the 1937 Paris Show, bought there by Maurice Le Guyader and later modified by Letourneur & Marchand to its present appearance. Sold to Jan de Dobbeleer after the war and then on to Vojta Mashek in the U.S. Carefully restored by the next owner in 2004, preserving the origil materials wherever possible. Great paint and interior, chrome is scuffed.

Market commentary

A spectacular automobile with a remarkable history and only three owners from new. The recent restoration is especially impressive in its sympathetic attention to preservation. It is worth what the bidders here in Monterey said it was, which is about a million dollars more than any other D8 120 has ever brought, even an Aerosport.
