Equipment
Sliding divider, jump seats, footrests. Gorgeous Art Deco details abound like the interior quarter lights, taillight lenses, grilles for the concealed speakers in the divider, interior handles and window molding. Even the chauffeur was visually entertained. An older concours restoration maintained in show ready condition. Said to have been designed by Herb Newport for Mae West but first sold to Ethel Mars (candy bars). Known history since including Harrahs and all its origil components still intact.
Market commentary
The fourth highest sale of the spectacular Pebble Beach week, Mike Fairbairn said after the auction that the new owner told RM to take it back to Blenheim to return it to its spectacular origil appearance in Silver with Silver Mink carpets. It is already a show stopper, but it soon will be even better. It is difficult to grasp the amount paid for it, even on a weekend when money seemed almost irrelevant.
