Equipment
RHD. Cycle fenders, single sidemount, folding windshield with aero screens, outside exhaust. Raced at Le Mans in 1935 by Collier Mitchell Thomson but dnf after the center main cap let go. A regular VSCC competitor in the 50s and 60s. Never restored, just kept up and maintained, now with decent cosmetics, sound mechanical preservation and plenty of pati. A real sweet car.
Market commentary
Bid to +130,000 (then $157,347 and with real money behind it) at Christies auction at Le Mans in July of this year, this hammer bid is equal to +94,000, +36,000 thrown in the hopper. There is an adage in this business (and many others) that your first loss is your least loss. The consignor vacillated to his ultimate disappointment. An outstanding automobile with real Le Mans history, it is a good value even in US$, rare these days at a UK or European auction.
