Equipment
Black wire wheels, dual sidemounts, dual windshield wipers, side entry rumble seat. Known history from new and a striking design with the body from 217AMS fitted in 1938 for Dr. Frederick G. Keyes. Serviced by Rolls Royce in the U.K. for Dr. Keyes every ten years. Later owned by Mark Gibbons, Dennis Gibbs and Bud Lyon. A never restored highly original car. Seat leather extremely worn and lumpy. Paint chipped and cracked. German silver worn and lightly pitted. Old undercoating seems to have preserved the underside since new. The documentation file begins in 1932. Thats preservation.
Market commentary
This is a fabulous sporting PII which RM sold at the Biltmore in 2007 for $770,000. Sympathetically maintained as needed over the years, it is very original. It is most deserving of an owner who will resist the urge to tear it apart and rather drive it as is. An expensive purchase but still a good value. The new owner can claim the title steward of this remarkable Rolls Royce.
