Equipment
Maroon wire wheels and top piping, dual sidemounts, luggage rack, rumble seat. Swiss restored to good operating condition but not to US cosmetic standards. Randy Emas records indicate this is the chassis number shown above but there is apparently no number on the car. Poorly defined masking of the paint accents and showing age and use. A sound and presentable driver.
Market commentary
This is a handsome car and probably a good running one as well. However US buyers expect Cord Front Drives to have eye popping presentation and this car falls short. Compare with the brilliant, but gaudy, example RM sold for $203,500 in early August at Meadow Brook. For the difference in presentation this car could have been sold at this bid ($118,720 with commission) without regret, particularly coming after the meager $95,000 high bid ($112,000 with commission) at Christies Rockefeller Center auction in June. The market speaks but the seller isnt hearing.
