Equipment
As seen at Newport, Rhode Island, two weeks ago. RHD. Brass brightwork, rollup divider, jump seats, brass wheel discs, dual sidemounts single driving light, spotlight mirror. A sound but older restoration thats seen better days. Some thin plating and generally tarnished brass, interior wood varnish cracks, clean chassis, chipped paint, good interior. Believed to be this chassis second Hooper body. Restored in Geneva 1966 67.
Market commentary
Newport comment: Not the most attractive coachwork ever to grace a PII but certainly distinctive and probably a unique mixture of a sound and reliable PII chassis with later rounded edge enclosed bodywork. Bid to $29,000 with little interest there. What a difference a fortnight makes! Still, it is a unique PII Rolls at a very modest price.
