Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome wire wheels, dual sidemounts, luggage trunk, rumble seat. First owned by legendary mobster Jake The Barber Factor. Restored in 1977 by Joe Kaufmann, then again by LaVine Restorations for S. Ray Miller in 1994 and an AACA, CCCA and A C D winner. Unused in recent years but starts and runs well and looks brilliant. No Reserve.

Market commentary

This is big but not inappropriate money for J143s condition, style and its first owners colorful story. Its helpful to recall, however, that 2340 brought $962,500 at Sothebys Rick Carroll auction in 1990 and it didnt have its original engine.
