Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Rumble seat, painted wire wheels, wide whitewalls, rear mounted spare. Metal paneled body. Represented as 1929 Paris show car first owned by Ernest Hemingway with R R guaranty in his name. Well, actually it says M. Hemingway and it seems more likely it was another Monsieur Hemingway, not Papa. An older restoration to European standards that shows some age and use. Good but aged chrome, interior and paint.

Market commentary

The seller apparently also feels that a later owner was Barbara Hutton, the Woolworth heiress and Lance Reventlows mother. Now, just when did Ms. Hutton buy second hand Rolls Royces The whole story is so phony its pathetic, yet it apparently worked. The car itself is a very nice piece, handsomely cosmetically restored and would have been a decent value if you took the 1 off its price. Fools and their money are soon parted.
