Equipment
RHD. Coachwork built by dIeteren Freres to Hibbard & Darrin design with Blue leather padded roof. Cream wire wheels, Marchal headlights and driving light, sliding divider, jump seats, liquor cabinet, rear compartment clock, gold rear interior handles, pullup window curtains, faux mink over rug, burl wood inlay. A spectacular and opulently equipped car with excellent paint, interior and chrome but disappointing chassis with paint slopped over old dirt and rust pits. Originally built for Nedicks orange drink shops owner Robert T. Neely. Three owners from new. Restored in the last five years and said to have recently been mechanically freshened.
Market commentary
A spectacular automobile of the highest quality and luxurious appointments. Sold with an invitation to Pebble Beach included, it deserves attention to the chassis before being submitted to that level of competition and brought a price here that owes more to its visual impact than to its condition.
