Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Lefthand drive. Gold plated brightwork for its first owner, Irene Mamlock (Simon, Schoelkopf) Carman, who had prospered from two lucrative marriages. Wheel discs, bell headlights, faux canework tonneau, luggage trunk, jump seats, footrests, dual sidemounts, Black painted bumpers highlighting the gold plated R R medalion, elaborate inlaid rear compartment wood trim. Subsequently owned by several prominent socialites and restored in 2003 for Roger and Sissy Morrison. 2003 Pebble Beach class and Nethercutt Trophy winner, Amelia Island class winner, CCCA judged 100 points in 2004. Still in nearly concours condition. John M. OQuinn estate.

Market commentary

An extraordinary Carmobile, even by Rolls Royce standards with a colorful history that adds to its appeal. The restoration, too, is exceptional as is the richly deserved price it brought at Villa dEste.
