Equipment
RHD. Possibly displayed at the 1929 Paris show, then bought by Sir Stanley Ward, British Consul in Cannes. Known history until restored in the 1980s. Nine gauges, eight switches on the instrument panel, Marchal headlights, luggage trunk, green glass windshield visor, beautiful figured wood trim inside, smokers and vanity kits. A rare car with unusually attractive closed coachwork in nearly pristine restored condition despite the two decades since it was done.
Market commentary
It is not at all surprising that the bidders ran right through the estimate range to top out at the high end on this exceptional, elegant, beautifully restored Rochet Schneider. It is a high class car and brought little enough money, even at the high end of the estimate. The long life of its restoration speaks for itself. Its a sound acquisition, even at this price.
