Equipment

Traceable history to Carlos Zatuszek in Argenti thru Ed Jurist, Hayashi, Brian Brunkhorst (Brunthorst), J. Gottinger and Rolf Meyer. Restored for Gottinger and still in excellent condition. One of only two surviving SSKs, the other being the ex Trossi car of Ralph Lauren, origil invoice noted Rennwagen. No fenders, no lights, dual rear spares, split windshield, huge gas tank. Widely featured in magazines and books. Includes historic documents and photos from Zatuszeks ownership. Rolf Meyer collection.

Market commentary

$2,450,000. Thats what this rare and desirable SSK would have cost a US$ buyer a year ago at this hammer price. Ouch! It makes Terry Bennetts faux Zatuszek SSK look like a great buy at $423,500 in 1991, all the fun and thrill (and lots of SSK parts) for 1 8 the money. No word on the buyer although a prominent French Ferrari expert is mentioned as the last one holding up his hand. Whether on his own behalf or in the capacity of agent is not known.
