Ray Jones conversion from S chassis with SSK head, supercharger and steering wheel. Michel Roquet collection. Repainted over cracks and chips, now worn and scratched. Chassis oily and dirty. Grinder scars under radiator shell plating. A rough and ready driver.

Market commentary

A discussion among the auction onlookers examined where, if any, all the real SSKs are. The answer seems to be hidden away, so the ubiquitous Ray Jones replicas have to do standin duty. Half a million dollars (plus commission) seems like enough to pay for one.
