Equipment
Chrome wire wheels, Pilot Rays, dual remote Lorraine spotlights, radio, dual chrome wrapped sidemounts. Excellent fits, flat panels, even gaps. 1982 AACA and CCCA 680. Not disappearing top, but a fully correct A C D certified matching engine, body and frame Duesenberg J. The restoration is holding up remarkably well, a strong indication of its quality workmanship and materials.
Market commentary
Sold at Kruse Scottsdale in 1998 for a reported price of $787,500; passed at Christies in Tarrytown in 2000 at $480,000; sold at the New York Auto Show and Salon later that year for $564,500, all the time in about the same condition as here, just showing a little more age now. The new owner might rethink the appropriateness of this price the next time the time is folded high behind the seats, but the clear history and great condition will continue to provide offsetting dividends, the essence of true value.
