Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. 2.8 liter eight with Roots supercharger making 205hp. Highly original restoration to extremely sympathetic standards. New crankcase and blower housing but original magnesium parts included along with other original pieces retained during restoration. A water leak observed before the auction was repaired before sale. The patina on this car is everything Paul Grist strives to create on his old Alfas, but in this case its real. Multi year racing history with Arcangeli, Dreyfus and others.

Market commentary

A real gem, not only for its history and mechanical specifications but also for its exceptional barn find condition and sympathetic restoration. Carefully maintained and regularly exercised to keep it from getting stale it will retain its value and, better yet, demonstrate the talent and craftsmanship of the fratelli Maserati.
