Equipment
350ci. GM V8 with custom manifold with 2 dual Stromberg 94 carbs, Turbo 350 automatic, 9 Ford rear end. All steel body done built as a nostalgia old school hot rod. Channeled 3 and chopped 6. Custom roof panel with windshield visor. Pick up bed shortened 40. Custom frame, rear suspension is 4 bar and coil over, 1935 Ford front axle with 1948 Lincoln spindles and brakes. 5.60x15 Firestone wide whitewalls on the front and 8.20X15 on the rear on orange painted wheel with small dish hubcaps and trim rings on the wheels. Interior is rolled and pleated vinyl, with a matching bed cover. From 10 feet away this truck looks great, but closer inspection changes the impression. The flat black paint has runs all over it and appears poorly applied. Workmanship does not appear professional, it looks like something built in a backyard. Of course this might be the vision of the builder. The seller was not around to answer questions and left this vehicle to fend for itself.
Market commentary
It did not fend well. Nostalgia rods are hot, but with a flathead mill and manual transmission, not a small block slush box. The bidders were unenthused and unwilling to offer even the parts value of this steel bodied rod.
