Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Supercharged sohc 4 cylinder. Origilly a cabriolet shipped to Rumania, seized by Communists, recovered by owners family in 1989. Restored at some point with replica roadster body on shortened chassis and upgraded with new carb, bigger supercharger, distributor coil ignition, bigger tires, altertor, electric cooling fan, etc. for events like Mille Miglia and Colorado Grand. Surprisingly ugly with cycle fenders, outside exhaust headers, dual rear spares and a clumsy folding top. In good touring condition, however. Rolf Meyer collection.

Market commentary

This result makes sense only by taking into account the dollars recent 20+% plunge against the Euro. A year ago this result would have converted into $136,000. Still pricey for a highly modified car, but not quite so pricey as it appears today.
