Equipment
The third Lincoln built after its acquisition by Ford, owned until 1962 by the family of the original owner, William A. Lucking (Fords attorney) and one owner since then. Still with Leland Built badges. Aside from an older repaint, new leather on the front seat and what appears to be some engine work it is completely original and in exceptional condition. Runs and drives like new. Odo shows 47,134 miles, probably accurate. Frumpy aluminum body by Lang, delightfully detailed with nickel trim, bud vases, smokers kits and window shades.
Market commentary
A real treasure. Henry Leland was The Master of Precision and this Leland Built Lincoln is one fine automobile. His sense of style, however, left a lot to be desired and his company foundered on frumpy appearance and an IRS mistake. This Lincoln is a wonderful barn find in excellent original condition, a potential preservation class contender with unique and intriguing history. The price is right on, but also a great value.
