Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Rebar nerf bar, three Strombergs, hydraulic rear brakes, lever hydraulic shocks, 21 24 T tub, 14 T turtle deck, 32 Chrysler grille shell (which makes a Deuce look stodgy). 270 cubic inch GMC six with three Strombergs on a homemade intake. Custom ground Sig Erson camshaft, 12 cylinder Cadillac distributor, WWII bomber seat and belts, steel wheels. Driven by Lee Hammock and possibly Chuck Hulse. All there but rough and as raced with a couple of spare tires stuffed in beside the seat as side impact air bags. Ratty, dull, tired and dusty, a rare, wonderful and choice piece of racing history. No Reserve.

Market commentary

A crazed Canadian racer bought this car, giving your writer a hope of driving it some day. This was the very best, most charismatic, preserved and evocative old car in Hershey this weekend, a gorgeous piece of history, but one that takes a little bit of contemplation to appreciate. Fortunately Jack contemplated, appreciated, and got a great dirt trackin value.
