Equipment
RHD. Chrome brightwork, double Elliott speedometer, eight note Cicca horn. Originally delivered to the British Admiralty in 1915 during World War II, restored and rebodied by Crailville, Ltd just a few years ago. Very attractive, sporting and characteristic coachwork finished to concours standards.
Market commentary
Offered by RM at Monterey in August where it attracted a reported high bid of $500K, it returned to Amelia with a much more reasonable estimate range and even then found a new home well under the low estimate. A largely reconstructed car with a new body and many replacement parts replacing items cannibalized over its years as a derelict chassis since the 1970s, it may not excite Rolls Royce enthusiasts for originality but is a beautiful, charismatic quality automobile for a very reasonable price. Well bought.
