Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Gray & Davis spotlight, sidelights, headlight and electric starter, Humistat water vapor injection, Westinghouse vibration dampers. Aged and used but well preserved and deserves to stay as it is. Probably built by D. Cameron Peck, but maybe not. In any event its been a Semi Racer since Peck donated it to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry sixty years ago. Runs and drives. No Reserve.

Market commentary

This National was just 36 years old when D. Cameron Peck donated it to the Museum of Science and Industry. Its now been there nearly sixty years, so its Semi Racer history long outlives anything else it might have been. It is just plain wicked cool and went to an Indianapolis historic racer of note who will be sure to exercise it the way Peck intended for his exhilaration and for the titillation of fans of big thumpers everywhere. Worth every penny and a car that it would be a crime to restore.
