Equipment
RHD. Replica coachwork built during restoration in Australia in the 80s. GBP 60,000 engine rebuild completed in 2004. Electrified headlights and cowl lights, trumpet horn, clock. Little used since the rebuild and in very good condition cosmetically and mechanically.
Market commentary
A rare, unusual and powerful automobile with the Silent Knight sleeve valve engine, it was sold by Coys in London in March 2001 for GBP 22,000 hammer, 25,300 with commission, giving the seller here scant compensation for the fabulously expensive engine rebuild at a price of GBP 33,000 hammer, 37,800 with commission. Todays result, however, is not inappropriate in absolute terms.
