Market commentary
It is instructive to look at the prices of these old crocks, with cylinders the size of paint cans and presentation that will make Mr. Toad swell up with pride. They are bringing big money; really serious lucre, whether pounds, dollars or euros. They offer something very important that more established collectors cars cant match: mechanical ingenuity, rare style and presence, and thundering performance that is hard to match. That is serious value, and it was appropriately realized here.
