Equipment
RHD. The third car with the classic Rolls Royce radiator and the fourth with the Rolls Royce name, the oldest known surviving Rolls Royce. Exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1904 and the Olympia Motor Show in early 1905. Restored in the early 50s with the present coachwork from a period 4 seat body. The only surviving 1904 Rolls Royce and therefore the only one that is Brighton Run eligible. In the present ownership since 1978, only the second owner since the 40s. Well maintained but aged old restoration that is sound and eminently usable. One of only 17 10hp Type A Rolls Royce automobiles built and a choice piece of automobile history.
Market commentary
A uniquely important automobile and the buyers opinion of its value is as good as it needs to be. This much money will buy a garage full of Silver Ghosts, but none of them will be as important as this, and none of them will participate in the Brighton Run where this 2 cylinder, mechanical intake and exhaust valve, 3 bearing, 3 speed car will always be a headline participant.
