Joe E 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS 2dr Sport Coupe

Barn Find- First Love Car now mine after 42yrs

In 1973, the older neighborhood brother, Lee, brought his 'new' car home while were hanging out at his family's house. I was smitten the second he pulled it into the driveway. It was a 1969 Z/28 Rally Sport with the endura bumper. Between the color coded bumper, the cowl hood, hide away lights, the stripes & front spoiler I was pretty much 'done' right about then. From then until now, I have owned 6 Camaros and 5 of them Z28's (69, 71, 79, 85 & 2002). The 1985 is an ex prostock race car that I currently race. So, in July of 2015 in ran into his younger sister and she said he still had the car in the barn in the back of his house and had been there since the mid 70's. Needless to say I went there w/in a few days to check on it. I took my restored 1971 Z28. After some negotiating (pleas) I finally brought the car home in September. Since then, we have done a complete restoration rotisserie style using every NOS parts I could locate to be sure the car is done properly. All the numbers on this car matched and were per the factory. So, 18 months later and a lot of sweat & cash I finally got the car home in my trailer. Just the interior needs completion at this time. Please see the pictures to date. It should be 100% by spring.

If this makes it to your magazine I have all kinds of pictures if you should need more. Also, every classic car I have had for over 20yrs has been insured through Hagerty. I had to use you guys after hitting a deer last summer in my 71 Z and the service was exceptional.
