Shawn P 1968 Camaro Coupe

Looking for my 1968 soul mate

Hello - Back in 1979 my Dad purchased a 1968 Camaro from a dealer on Gallatin Road in Nashville, Tennessee. She was white with a black vinyl top. Soon after, I began to drive the car and she was my 'Sally'. We had her painted black and put on the slotted aluminum wheels. I drove Sally while in high school and 4 years of college. My current wife and I dated as teenagers in Sally. Many special memories of going to the park and putting a new coat of hand wax on the Camaro. Unfortunately, I sold her in 1988 for a new car. I just recently located the original Bill of Sale, which has the VIN number. I have been searching for her for about a month and have been able to track her down to last being registered in Tampa, Florida as late as 2009. I have not been able to locate any other information since last being registered in Florida. Some have suggested that she may have been sent overseas, which would break my heart. The last owner in Florida sent me some pictures of Sally before he sold her. He could not remember any information on who the buyer was. When sold in Florida, she was red with black rally stripes, black vinyl top, a wooden Grant steering wheel, and still had the 2 speed power glide on the column. The last 4 digits of the VIN number are "7826".

I am hoping that someone out there can help me re-connect with my 1968 Camaro. I have attached a picture of me as a teenager with Sally, as well as what the car looked like a few years ago.

Please help me by sharing my story of Sally. I am still hopeful she is out there and we can re-connect.

Well the only thing I know would help is if the owner went back to see if he's got a copy of the title cause that usual tells you:odometer, model, year, body style, license plate number, and the lien holder. Other than that I don't know any other way to help. But I would like to know what you used to track down the owner.
