During the 60's I played in a rock band known as The Invictas. There were fan clubs, police escorts and a hit song and dance called "The Hump." The band was known to arrive in a 55 Caddy Hearse with gold racing stripes and the band's name on the side.
In 2006 I reunited the band and of course we needed a set of wheels that would attract attention. That's where "The Pontiac That Rocks" comes in. I wanted to drive a car that not only turned heads but also fit the era of when the band started. The 51 Pontiac Sedan Delivery fit the bill.
The car was customized in California, and has many of the features of today's cars. power steering, power seats, power brakes, custom leather interior, air conditioning, back up camera, fantastic sound system and it looks and drives like a hot rod. Yes it has some get up and go, via a 71 Pontiac Turbo 400 cubic inch V/8.
The band is called The Invictas and we're rocking thousands of boomers from NY to Fl.
The band has recorded an album, several singles and 4 CD's. Been featured on NBC's Today Show, by iHeart Radio, USA Today and by media across America.
I often bring the Pontiac That Rocks to events The Invictas play at in Florida and yes The Hump is still a favorite with the crowds.
