We lived on a Tobacco farm near Gretna, Va. In a community of Renan. My daddy bought this pickup to haul all the farm supplies and the tobacco to the market at Danville, Va. In the fall of the year. Daddy bought it new at Hunt Cheverlot in Chatham, Va. in 1956 for $1,515.00. This is the truck I learned to drive on. When my daddy passed away in 1994 they gave it to me. I retired from Norfolk Southern Corp. on 02/02/02. In 2007 I carried it to a body shop for a paint job 16 months and about $80,000.00 later it was ready and it looks much better than it did new in 1956.
