Jeff S 1934 pickup

A childhood dream finally comes true

When I was 13 years old a guy down the street from where I lived had and built all these cool hot rods, but the one that always stood out in my mind was his really cool early ford pickup. ALlol I knew was it was between a 32 and 34 and it was COOL....

In my growing up I was always into some kin of hot rods, weather it be a 48 Plymouth coupe with a flathead six and positive ground charging system or a 68 Chevy pickup with a big block, chopped, shaved, and louvered or a 63 chevy 2 street/strip car.

I was always looking at those early ford pickups at shows and cruise in but they were always either way out of my price range or not for sale...

And that leads to now some 30 years later when I got to talking to a customer at work when we got to talking about cars and was telling me about a 57 fuel corvette that he recently sold ( he wouldn't tell me how much he sold it for ) and He said I've got a old pickup that I'm going to sell too...when he told me it was a 34 ford I knew it was either gonna be a pile or way too much money but I asked him if I could take a look at it because it was only 30 minutes away.

Well when I pulled up in front of his garage and that door begin to go up I couldn't believe what I was looking at, It was my dream car from when I was a kid and best of all it has been sitting in a heated garage up on blocks for the last 48 years...The last time it was driven was in 1966 and the tag is still on the truck and the registration is inside that goes to those tags and the keys are still hanging in the steering column

Well now it's sitting in my heated garage just the way it was up on blocks until I can get it done (I have another project I am finishing up now ) but at least it's mine....

I never thought I would be one of those people that you hear about finding an old barn/garage find...

I hope you can share my story....THANKS ! Jeff St.John
