I own a beautiful red and black 1946 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup truck that I found in Greenville, SC in 2007. I've named her "Lucille" because she's a redhead!! Ha ha!! She is also an eye-catcher. When I take her out heads turn and broad smiles and waves from people reacting to her classic 1940's era art deco design.
The picture I have attached was taken at the last remaining covered bridge in South Carolina, Campbell's Covered Bridge located in the Upstate of SC.
Right now "Lucille" has moved to Murphy, NC since we sold our home in SC. Have yet taken her to town but will in the near future. Maybe get her in the local Christmas parade this year.
Anyway, "Lucille" is a gem and it reminds us all how in times past we truly could manufacture with style and elegance. It seems that we have lost that creative spirit with very little imagination and unique identity in today's vehicles.
I love my truck and also the thousands of other people who desire to preserve classics from our past.
