I had wanted a 1955 Thunderbird ever since I saw their introduction in 1954. I had to wait until after my retirement to find the right one. I have had over twenty years to enjoy my black roadster that came out of California equipped with wide whitewall tires and a vintage McCulloch supercharger.
It gives me a thrill every time I drive it and I'm sure it brings back memories of the 50's to many others of my generation. I really like it when the younger drivers look at the details around the instrument panel and realize how different it is to control such a complex and exciting vehicle without the help of all the assists and comfort features we take for granted today.
