I came home from Vietnam (USN) at the beginning of the "Muscle Car" era in 1965. The family being almost exclusively Oldsmobile freaks rendered the 442 a MUST. I ordered it from the factory at what must have been the end of 1965 parts supply because it came equipped with the "spread-bore" carb rather than the Rochester 4GC. The chrome wheels were a 1-year only option and are very rare.
Needless to say, the first time I went through the gears I was in love for life. I used to think that meant the life of the car but next year being the 50th anniversary of our union (and my 73rd birthday) I'm not so sure! At each shift point, I'm 23 again!
