Arnold P 1928 Marmon

The thrill of the Hunt

Back in the 1950's when I was working in a Chevrolet garage and looking for an antique car, I heard that Minnie Falconer had a Marmon for sale for four hundred dollars.I had visions of one of the greatest classics of all, a touring car with a V16 engine. Immediately after work. I went out to the old Falconer farm on the Wilton Road only to learn that she had sold it the week before to the Wentworth boys. I traced them down, and there it was in their yard with a For Sale sign for eight hundred dollars. Alas, it was not the touring model, but a plain square box sedan that had about as much glamor as a Model A. I wish I had the opportunity again to purchase this rare car.
