My first car buy was a 1966 GTO. I washed a lot of dishes at $1.47 an hour to buy it for the bargain basement price of $100.00. This was the summer of 1974 when I bought it. It needed a timing chain, fuel pump, tires and exhaust to make the 200 mile drive home. The bad rear wheel bearing was replaced once I got it home. I drove it my senior year in high school and traded it for a slightly used 1976 Camaro when I graduated. I soon regretted trading it in even thought the Camaro was a great little car. I spent a lot of time looking for it, but only saw it once after that. I've since added a 1969 GTO and a 1987 Trans Am GTA to my garage.
