Every year we get together with our family to do a family Christmas Card picture. This tradition has gone on for over 40 years. A few years ago, we decided to do a photo on the beach at Long Beach, California with our hot rod. I saw many tire tracks and thought all would be well. My wife warned me and told me that we would get stuck. I, of course, knew better! Well, as we drove onto the sand, the car began to sink. Before I knew it, we were stopped. The photo shows sand up to the axels. It wasn't the exact spot I wanted for the photo, but it would have to do. It turned out to be one of our most favorite photos and came with a great family memory.
Ultimately, we called Auto Club who sent a tow truck with a winch. They hooked us up with a nylon belt and pulled us out of the sand. Another lesson learned! Another fun outing with the 1929 Ford Pickup Hot Rod.
