Rick D 1962 Falcon Station Wagon

Pliers and a Screwdriver

Santa brought me a Tonka Car Hauler with three plastic Ford Falcons for Christmas when I was five years old. I’ve owned five Falcons since. I currently own a ’60 Falcon--a ‘sleeper’ with a Boss 302 under the hood.

Back in 1983, while driving my '62 Falcon station wagon across West Texas, I encountered a sand storm. The one barrel carburetor filled with sand and stopped me dead in my tracks. There, on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, I removed, cleaned and reinstalled the carburetor with the only tools I had--pliers and a screwdriver and was back on the road. I love the simplicity of Ford Falcons.
