Wow...it was 1992, I was 42 years old at the time and had recently finished rebuilding my 1961 Chevrolet Impala. I ran into my ex-girlfriend the night before. I hadn't seen her in about a year...she had just split up from someone she had been dating, and I was sort of split up from someone...OK, not really, but that's not important. It was in the Fall of the year, and being close to the beach, I asked her if she wanted to ride down to the coast the next day. We left around 10 o'clock the next morning, going through a drive-thru before heading out on the 80 mile trip. We had a great time at the beach, dropped in to see a friend of mine who lived there, and started back around 6 o'clock. This is when it really started getting good. It got dark real quick, (day-light savings time) it was a beautiful night and all the stars lined up. Well, one thing led to another and we ended up like 2 teenagers. I really can't go into details, but somewhere on the trip back...for some reason, I ran off the road...but luckily corrected it. It was a great night, I dropped her off at her place, and went home feeling like my senior year in high school. I woke the next morning, went outside and saw where my right front hubcap was missing. I had the original 1961 Impala hubcaps on my Chevy with 1962 SS spinners added. I ended up having to buy a complete set of spinners ($225.00), being that's the only way they are sold, along with another set of hubcaps for $100.00 (again the only way I could get one). To this day whenever I run into this Lady I can't help but smile...especially the time she asked, "you still have your Chevy"?
