Growing up in the 60's was quite an experience. It was the time of cruising and racing up and down Woodward Avenue.
In 1964, I purchased my first car, a 1958 Chevy Biscayne, stock, 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree. It was my car, not my daddy's
or mama's car, but mine!
Friday and Saturday nights were a big deal. The Detroit Drag Way was the place to show off and test your nerves - 1/4 mile in
a blink of an eye... Also, the year Detroit Drag Way hosted the World Championship Drag Races.
Here, at 16 years of age, running with the big boys. Up to the lights! On my left the National Record Holder in my class. Yellow,
yellow, yellow, then Green....we're off!
I finished 2nd, not bad for a 16 year old, and I still have my trophy to this day!
