Shortly after buying my '68 Shelby GT350 convertible, my wife and I drove it to town for dinner at our favorite restaurant, parking on the street in front of It's About Thyme. The owner greeted us at the front door and I pointed out my new ride. He gave it a cursory glance, said "that's nice", and seated us. He returned shortly, I guess he got a closer look, and complemented the car profusely and shared stories of the Shelby his roomate had owned many years ago. As we left after dinner, there were two guys who work at the restaurant sitting out front. They complemented the car, asked a bunch of questions, and said they were waiting to hear it run when I started it. How's that for an ego boost?
