Uncle Jim was always a car guy. In 1983 he bought my aunt Mary a beautiful white Datsun 280ZX with a red interior. She drove it to work until she retired, but every year following her retirement, it sat more and more. It was a sad day when she passed on. My uncle kept the car in the garage, not driving it for months at a time. Years have passed with only 45,000 miles showing on the odometer and it remained in the garage, a memory of his departed Mary. My uncle is no longer able to drive and the Datsun now sits in my garage. Every weekend that I take her out, I remember my aunt and uncle and think of how blessed I am to be the keeper of the Datsun. I look forward to the time when the next generation of the family will have their turn behind the wheel.
