All my life I've loved the MG TD. As a child I had a toy metal MG TD which I drove till the wheels fell off. My greatest memories, by far, was from when I was in 5th grade. We had a great teacher and he owned an MG TD, faded red, with a tan interior, weekly near the end of Friday's school day he would announce to the class, "Anyone interested in going to race slot cars be back here at 3:30 PM." Every Friday he would cram as many of us in the little MG TD as possible. The fewest we ever left with was four including our teacher, the most was 6. I remember the very first time I went, the sound of the engine, shifting gears and the wind rushing in, cornering, it was from that point that I was hooked. It didn't matter if it was cold, hot or pouring down raining, which happened several times, I always couldn't wait to go. The memory of that MG TD was embedded in me forever. Racing the slot cars was fun but not nearly as much as riding in the MG TD. Many, many times I considered buying one but couldn't for several reasons. Recently I purchased one and the memories are more than alive, but now I'm making more of them.
