IRVINE S 1970 El Camino, 350 cid, 4bbl

The Best Is Yet To Come!

My story starts on June 18, 2013, when we picked up our newly purchased 1970 El Camino-and our 1st ever Classic Car. Since then we have participated in "Hot August Nights", attended the "Barrett-Jackson Auction" (drooled a lot at the beautiful cars!) drove to Pleasanton, CA for the "Good Guys West Coast Nationals (again, drooling a lot!) and have participated in a number of local Show and Shine events. Hey, even won 1st place for the Best El Camino in the El Camino/Ranchero class. Yeah, I know, there were only two El Caminos entered in the Class but, what the heck... a 1st is a 1st in my book! Since purchasing the classic, we have put on new American Racing Torq Thrust ll wheels and BFG White Raised Letter Tires, dual Magna Flo mufflers, Billet Polished Aluminum valve covers andt Air Cleaner, chrome alternator (the old one failed) and have had the interior re-done, swapping out the bench seats (which we found not so comfortable on the trip to Pleasanton) with bucket seats, new door panels and a custom built console to fill the space between the seats. Paint job to come next Fall.

We have gained many great memories and many new friends so far but, as I said... The Best Is Yet To Come!!
