Lisa D 1973 Chevrolet Corvette 2dr Convertible

Package shelf passenger

What is my best memory in a classic car?

I remember attending car shows with my parents and my two siblings. My brother used to ride in the package shelf of my dad's 1940 Ford Coupe when we were growing up in the 1970's and 80's. I remember no one knowing he was back there and the way the window curved in the back seat behind the driver side door if you sat "just so" no one could see me either. We would go to car shows or events and not to be deceitful but the people at the gates to go in to an event didn't see us so my parents weren't charged. I think they usually paid for 3 entries when there were always five of us. My dad made the cover and even a few centerfolds with that vehicle in car magazines and I am certain us kids were in the back seat, no where to be seen.

My dad built a 1950 Merc for my mom and there are so many windows we couldn't get away with it if we rode with her. Good times....still trying to keep them rolling.
