Growing up I attended many car shows, I even entered model cars for competition. I worked long hours during summer break on several models and won awards for my efforts. I loved classic cars as a kid (and still do). I learned how to drive on a '69 Beetle my grandparents had at their cabin. They also had a '41 Chevrolet Special DeLuxe and an unusual '52 Cadillac Superior funeral coach/camper combination. I remember sitting behind that huge steering wheel, looking through it at the hood ornament pretending to drive that massive beauty. As an adult I decided it was time to start my car collection. I found a '70 Cadillac DeVille Convertible on eBay and bought the car. It was in good condition, but I never thought it was ready to be a show car. My dad was very excited about the car and encouraged me to bring it to the local cruise night event. Everyone loved the car and I made a lot of new friends that night. A car show followed the cruise night on the next day. I decided to bring the DeVille to the show, it was a great event and there were many beautiful cars in the competition. To my surprise the Cadillac won 3rd place overall and I took home my first trophy for a car, not just a model of a car. My dad was very proud.
