Long Time Dream Car Becomes Reality

Growing up in the 1960s Wilmington, MA area, I got to own and drive a couple $25-$75 1948 and 1950 Plymouths which now are seen at antique / classic car shows. They were just basic transportation back then. The cars that caught my eyes then were the late 20s, early 30s models. A long time friend owned a stock dark blue 1936 Ford 5W coupe. I used to really admire that car, but of course as a teen didn't have the funds to purchase one. While serving 2 years active duty in the Navy, I managed to save enough money and bought a new 1968 GTO just after resuming a career as an E/M Design Drafter. While I always liked the muscle cars, I still loved the early Ford classics. A couple years ago I spotted my "dream car", a basically stock 1936 Ford coupe in decent shape which had been mostly restored except for the interior. I had it shipped to MA and have been attending shows ever since. Updates: Did a 6V to 12V conversion, had a new original type interior installed, repainted wood grain dash and window moldings, among a continuing list of things ... never done. It's still hard to believe I finally have this dream car after all these years!
